Smoking itself is bad for the environment, as smoke contains all sorts of nasty chemicals like carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and a few others. These are not just bad for those breathing it in, they cause damage to surrounding areas too. Not only that, forest fires can start thanks to lit cigarettes being dumped into green land. Small animals also mistake cigarette butts for food, and eat them, which can cause choking.
