If you mean I’m A Scientist, it is important to me because I wanted to use this space to inspire young students to work hard and achieve their best. It isn’t to push people to become scientists by any means, but to make you realise that we scientists are just as human as you! We also, one day, were sat in classrooms like yourselves and started to discover the wonders of the universe around us (and that which is inside of us!). I love to see children get passionate about science, and I just wanted to help to develop that curiosity and spark.

Hi Jess, do you mean being part of I’m a scientist? If so then it’s really important to me. I get to teach students all of the time, but they are already at university, and so already excited about science. Taking part in this means that I get to talk to students who are still deciding what to do in their careers. You’re the next generation of scientists (the people who will be saving the world!!) so we need to make sure that you know more about what it’s like to work in science, and that there are lots of opportunities for you if science interests you.
