In fifty years, life would be totally different. We would likely have robots that do a lot of tasks that we do today, we would have cars that fly. We would have houses that talk to us. We will have machines that can check our health far better than any machine can do today. We will have more energy efficient machines and devices. Technology will be far advanced. I will be 77 by then, so I’ll probably not be able to keep up with the latest developments! 🙂

My imagination isn’t as creative as yours, perhaps, but I can make a few guesses for what will be different in 50 years: we will have a base on the moon, which will be used for mining purposes and also as a stop-over for trips to Mars, which we will likely have gone to by then. I suspect we’ll have individualised medicine at a rather advanced stage, which means your genome will be fully sequenced and compared against a database of illnesses which you will be treated for before you have any symptoms. You’ll have toilets that monitor your poo for infections or other issues well before you notice the problem. But we’ll still elect crazy people…some things never change 😉
