We would continue to see the polar ice caps and glaciers melt but at a faster rate, sea levels would rise further with more low lying land being land lost underwater and the oceans would become warmer. There would be more frequent extreme weather events including long periods of drought that would change where and how we grow food our food. All of these things would affect the wildlife and risk more species becoming extinct.

The answer here relates to the answer here: /healthycitiesj18-zone/2018/06/19/what-effect-does-global-warming-have-on-england/. To summarise, it causes adverse weather events, as well as damage to ecosystems.

When I design new towns, I have to consider the impact of climate change. We currently assume a 40% increase in the amount of rain when designing. We also have to look at maps showing us the worst case in terms of sea level rises so we can adjust for it – either making things more resilient or raising level of the land we are building on.
