I like solving problems! As a scientist I have to try and understand problems affecting our environment, see what research has been done previously then come up with new ideas that we can test to see if it works and if it does I have to make sure that the benefits reach as many people as possible.

Learning new things, every single day! There is never a day I would go into work and not have something new to deal with. It’s fascinating and interesting, and most importantly, it makes you realise that no matter how much you know, there is still something else out there to discover!

I like coming up with cool questions, and then figuring out ways to answer them. I know that my work makes a difference (even if some days it doesn’t always feel like it). I also help to train the next generation of scientists, which is amazing!
