• Question: When did you decide to become a scientist. I still haven't decided if i want to be an author or scientist.

      I realised when I was doing my ‘A’ levels that I wanted to have a career in science and went onto university to study environmental geology. There is nothing stopping you being a scientist and an author – lots of people write books!

      What kind of fiction would you write? Crime novels can have a lot of science in them with mysteries to be solved.

      I always wanted to be a scientist. You don’t have to commit fully to a career until you are 18 and you can always do science or writing on the side
