Data must be accurate so we can make proper conclusions from it. An example would be, say you are building a house. You are given a piece of information that you want to build a 2m door. However, in reality, the doorway has only space for 1m height. The door will not fit! We need to make sure all data that we have is accurate, so anything we do with or say about it reflects reality.

What’s the point of having inaccurate data? The world would cease to exist without accurate data! My message to you over this internet cable would either not reach you or reach you and be just a random assortment of letters if not for the efforts many people have made towards ensuring the data I send you is accurately sent and received.

The accuracy of the data is dependant on what you are using it for. We do construct things without proper data because the project is so small, most of the budget would be used up. I often have to use my judgement to guess what would work.
